What you get

Fabrico is a cloud-based MES and OEE platform for manufacturers. The machine data, the operator input and each machine's repair history sit in one system.

Once a machine is connected, Fabrico shows what it is doing right now. Everyone from the shift lead to maintenance sees the same live data, on a wall screen in the hall or on a phone.

Machine status: which machines are running and which are stopped, line by line.

Counts: cycles from the machine signal, or parts counted by the camera, per machine and per shift.

Stops and micro-stops: each stop with its start time and length, down to the short stops too brief to log by hand.

Machine timeline: a colored bar per machine shows when it ran and when it stopped, shift by shift.

Live OEE: availability, performance and quality for each machine, updated as new data comes in.

A shift lead sees a stopped machine while the stop is still going on, not in the next morning's report. That leaves time to act during the shift where the loss happens.

It is all one platform. The same stops show up by cause and by machine in the downtime tracking software view, and the OEE figures roll up into shift, line and plant reports in the OEE software.

To see what the gap between your current and target OEE is worth, use the OEE calculator.

Automated machines usually run on a PLC or another control system. Fabrico reads the control signals, such as cycle start, stop and downtime events, so each cycle and each stop arrives with a timestamp and nobody has to write it down.

Your own automation team, a partner you work with, or the Fabrico team can do the integration.

Older and semi-automated machines often have no PLC to read. For these, the Fabrico team can install an IoT device with external sensors, such as an optical sensor that detects each cycle.

The device reports each cycle to Fabrico as it happens, so an older machine also shows its status, counts and stops on screen, next to the newer machines on the line.

Some stations give no machine signal at all, such as manual assembly or packing. There, AI cameras recognize and count output, so these stations get counts too.

The camera counts land on the same timeline as the PLC and sensor data. Our computer vision page covers the cameras in more detail.

A plant can mix all three paths, and every connected machine shows up in the same OEE view.

Each project starts with a review of your process and your machines, to see which machines can be read through their PLC, which need an IoT device and which manual stations suit a camera.

  • About 1 month: devices installed and machines connected.
  • Next phases: bulk import of your machine list from Excel, then setup of shifts, reason codes and dashboards.
  • 3 to 4 months: full rollout on the lines in scope, with each connected machine feeding live OEE and stop data.

Fabrico trains operators, shift leads and maintenance live and on site. After go-live, the Fabrico support team responds in under 2 hours, by email or by a phone callback.

The questions every plant asks first

Does it work with old machines without a PLC?

Yes. Older machines get an IoT device with external sensors, and manual stations can use cameras that count output.

How fast can we start?

A pilot line is live in days. Training is live and on site, and support responds in under 2 hours.

Is Fabrico a full MES?

Fabrico is a light MES: machine data collection, production monitoring, OEE and downtime analytics, and integration with SAP and other ERP systems. Job dispatching, BOMs, routings and genealogy stay in your ERP.

Is our data secure?

Certified to ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 20000-1, with EU hosting on AWS and role-based access.

FAQs

What is machine monitoring software?

Machine monitoring software collects data straight from production machines, such as running status, cycle counts and stops, and shows it live. Fabrico adds operator input and calculates OEE from the same data, so you see what share of the planned time produced good parts.

OEE and downtime tracking both start from this data.

Can Fabrico monitor older machines without a PLC?

Yes. A Fabrico IoT device with external sensors picks up each cycle, so the machine itself needs no PLC.

On manual or hybrid stations with no usable signal, AI cameras can count output instead. Both feed the same OEE figures as the machines with a PLC.

How long does it take to set up machine monitoring?

With Fabrico, installing the devices and connecting the machines takes about one month.

Full rollout across the lines you choose, with data import, setup and training, takes 3 to 4 months.

What is shop floor data collection?

Shop floor data collection means capturing production data at the machine while the shift runs: machine signals such as status, cycles and stops, plus what operators add by hand, such as stop reasons and scrap.

In Fabrico, the machine signals arrive by themselves and operators add the rest on a tablet or phone, so both sit on one timeline per machine.

Does Fabrico connect to SAP and other systems?

Yes. Fabrico syncs with SAP PM in both directions and works with SAP S/4HANA, and other ERPs such as Dynamics or Oracle connect through a custom integration.

A REST API, webhooks and Zapier are there for your other tools.

How is our machine data protected?

Fabrico is certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and runs in the AWS EU region. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit, and backups run daily.

Data is processed under GDPR with a data processing agreement, and Cloudflare protects the service against DDoS attacks.

Find out what your losses cost. Recover the output you already own.

Most customers reach ROI in 3 months. See your own losses with a price tag in a live demo, or start with a focused pilot on one representative line.

More detail

Shop floor data collection

Connected machines report their own status, cycles and stops. What no signal carries, operators add on a tablet at the machine instead of on a paper sheet.

Reason codes: the operator tags each stop with its cause from a list your team sets up, so every shift uses the same causes.

Counts and scrap: operators enter good parts and scrap where no sensor counts them, so the quality figure in OEE uses the counts they record.

QR codes on machines: scanning the code on a machine opens that machine in the app, so the entry is tied to that machine.

Tablet, phone or browser: the same app runs on iOS, Android and the web, in English, German, French, Polish and Bulgarian, and other languages can be added.

Paper sheets get filled in after the fact, from memory, and someone types them up at the end of the day. A tablet entry is made at the stop, with the machine and the time already attached.

ERP, API and built-in CMMS

Machine data sits next to maintenance in Fabrico, and Fabrico connects to the other systems you run:

Maintenance (CMMS): when a machine breaks down, a technician opens a work order from the stop. Fabrico tracks the reaction time, and each repair counts toward that machine's MTTR and MTBF.

Machine records: each machine has one record with its files and its repair history.

ERP: two-way sync with SAP PM, integration with SAP S/4HANA, and custom integration for Dynamics, Oracle and other ERPs.

REST API and webhooks: for your own systems and reports, plus Zapier for other cloud tools.

Excel and CSV export: any list goes out to Excel, and CSV export is available too.

Multi-plant machine monitoring

With a group account, each plant keeps its own view and head office sees all of them together. Cross-plant reports compare machines and lines between sites.

Dashboards are set up for your company as a whole, so each plant reads OEE in the same way.

Role-based access decides who sees what, and single sign-on through SAML can be added as a custom integration. An audit log keeps a record of changes.
