  2. Group sequence-dependent changeovers. Order jobs so similar setups run back-to-back (by colour, format, or tooling) to slash total changeover time.
  3. Schedule to finite capacity. Never load a resource past the hours it actually has free. An overloaded plan is just a hidden late delivery.
  4. Use real run rates, not nameplate speeds. Pull actual rates from OEE so the plan reflects how fast the line genuinely runs.
  5. Protect maintenance windows. Pull planned PM from the CMMS into the schedule so you never plan production on a machine about to be taken down.
  6. Build realistic buffers. Add time buffers before the bottleneck and the shipping date to absorb normal variability without a cascade.
